QC Mistakes to Avoid

Even experienced buyers make QC mistakes that cost them money. Here are the most common errors and how to avoid them when inspecting your Sugargoo warehouse photos.

Mistake one: approving items without checking retail comparisons. Your memory of what a retail shoe looks like is unreliable. Always have reference photos open in another tab before judging QC shots. Small differences in swoosh curve or toe box slope separate budget batches from top tiers.

Mistake two: ignoring interior shots. The outside of a bag might look perfect while the interior has crooked stitching or wrong lining material. Request interior photos for every accessory purchase.

Mistake three: not verifying sizing. QC photos should include a measurement tape across the insole or laid flat against the garment. Compare these numbers directly with the size chart from your seller. Asian sizing often runs one size smaller than Western equivalents.

Mistake four: approving damaged packaging. Crushed shoeboxes might seem cosmetic, but customs agents associate damaged packaging with counterfeit goods. If the box is destroyed, request the item be repackaged or ask for a discount to accept the risk.

Mistake five: missing the 24-hour window. Sugargoo allows exchanges and refunds only within 24 hours of QC photo delivery. Set notifications on your phone. The clock starts when photos appear, not when you first look at them.

Mistake six: trusting seller photos over warehouse photos. The images on Taobao or Weidian are often retouched or show a different batch entirely. Only trust photos taken by Sugargoo staff at their warehouse.
